4. Product Disclosure Documents

4.1 Before making any decision about an insurance product, you should read and consider the following documents provided by the insurer:

📄 Product Disclosure Statement (PDS)
The PDS contains important information about the insurance product including coverage, exclusions, conditions, and costs. You should read the PDS carefully before deciding whether to purchase the product.
🎯 Target Market Determination (TMD)
The TMD describes the target market for the product and helps you understand whether the product is likely to be consistent with the likely objectives, financial situation, and needs of consumers in that market.

4.2 These documents are prepared by the insurer and are available:

  • From the insurer’s website
  • By requesting a copy from National Cover
  • With your policy documentation when you purchase a policy

5. Our Role as Your Broker

5.1 National Cover is an insurance broker, not an insurer. We act on your behalf to arrange insurance with various insurance companies. We provide general advice only and do not provide personal advice.

What We Do
  • Provide general information about insurance products from multiple insurers
  • Arrange insurance policies on your behalf based on general advice
  • Assist with policy variations, renewals, and cancellations
  • Provide guidance and support during the claims process
  • Act as an intermediary between you and the insurer
What We Do Not Do
  • We do not provide personal advice
  • We do not assess whether a product is suitable for your personal circumstances
  • We do not recommend specific products based on your individual needs
  • We are not authorised to provide personal financial product advice
Our Remuneration

5.2 We may receive commission from insurers when you purchase a policy through us. We may also charge fees for our services. Full details of our remuneration are disclosed in our Financial Services Guide (FSG), which is available on request.
